Oral Cancer Screenings

Oral cancer can be a life-threatening health risk, though when detected early, treatment is often successful. In fact, studies show that early diagnosis and treatment can result in an 80-90% survival rate. For this reason, we place a large emphasis on oral cancer screenings at our practice, often incorporating them into routine exams and dental cleanings. To help increase your chance of early detection, we recommend a minimum of two oral cancer screenings per year, and that you immediately consult with Dr. Schumacher should you notice any irregularities in between visits.
